Details

Take a relaxing break at the friendly Abbey Guest House, enjoy the riverside location, the short walk into the city centre along the river path or through the Museum Gardens - a welcome drink and home baking on arrival will ensure you settle in comfortably.

The Abbey Guest House is in an ideal situation for you to soak up the history and tradition of York during the day and is even near enough to the city centre for you to pop back at tea time to put your feet up with a drink (or perhaps have a short snooze?) then walk back refreshed to sample the city's fabulous restaurants and nightlife. On sunny days you will certainly be tempted to sit and enjoy our flower filled terrace - a great place to have a glass of wine before going out.

You will experience our power showers in your modern en-suite bathroom - all refurbished in the last two years and with complimentary toiletries. Sleep well in our comfortable beds with feather pillows and duvets to snuggle up in. Our guests love our fresh, non-chintzy bedrooms decorated in shades of cream and brown.

Next morning, look forward to a seasonal menu for your full English breakfast, freshly cooked to order, with regular 'specials' such as black pudding, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, spiced fruit compote and pancakes - yummy!

Your car will be parked for no additional charge in our private car park at the side of the house, or if you travel by train it is only an easy 10 minute walk to us from the station.

Any other benefits? - we have lived in York for many years and have a wealth of local knowledge for you to tap into, we can suggest things to do in the city itself and in North Yorkshire. We also love eating out in the city and have visited many of the restaurants and cafes ourselves, so we are happy to give recommendations. We love helping our guests to make the most of their stay - if you're happy, we're happy!

See you soon.
