Tour of Britain 2009

Experience the Tour of Britain Cycle Race 2009 in York! Saturday 12th September 2009

Come along and join in the celebrations as York hosts one of the country's biggest sporting events of the year! Celebrate in York the end of Stage 1 of the Tour of Britain 2009. The first stage of the race starts in Scunthorpe at 10am and after a challenging 107 mile route the cyclists will head for a fast finish in York.

Olympic medalists will be amongst the world's top cyclists racing over the finish line at Heworth Stray, Malton Road, in York from 2pm.

Whether you're a keen cyclist or just looking for a fun family day out, there's a whole range of events cycling fun and activities planned from 10am to ensure a fun-filled day of celebrating York's part in this exciting event.
