DISCOVER DIG! What will you find?
At DIG you get to discover only the most exciting archaeological artefacts from 2000 years of history hidden under the streets of York. Our excavation pits are filled with Roman, Viking, medieval and Victorian finds, so you can grab a trowel and dig up the clues that show how people lived in these times.
Visitors then go on to examine real archaeological finds and work out what they were used for. Look out for the 1000 year old skulls and the Viking-Age Poo!
FREE admission for a year when you Gift Aid your admission ticket. Joint tickets available with JORVIK Viking Centre and Barley Hall
What tells us that the Roman Soldiers were keen gamblers? What graves good can be found with the monk buried on Fishergate?
As you continue through DIG you will learn how archaeologists analyse the information they find, and how all this information can be put together to create an impression of life in different periods.
