Latest Tourism Intelligence

The year has started well, with positive results across all sectors in January when compared with January in 2013. Hotel room occupancy matched the highest January figure ever recorded of 59% (also previously seen in 2012 and 2009). Visits to the eight big attractions were up by 20% vs January 2013 (to 116,346 visitors) and visits to small attractions (11 took part in the survey) were up by 48% vs January 2013 (to 12,578 visitors).

VisitEngland has recently launched the Annual Attractions Survey for 2013. The results of this survey generate quite a lot of media interest and publicity and attractions participating receive their own benchmarking report. If you are an attraction and have yet to receive a survey, either by email or in the post, please contact Annualattractionssurvey@visitengland.org to arrange a survey to be sent to you.
