First Time Campaign

Now Live across London stations & Underground

If you’re visiting the capital look out for Visit York’s new 48 sheet posters at key rail stations and on the Underground. Forty posters from Kings Cross to Victoria, Piccadilly to Leicester Square will entice visitors to head North for a stay in York. Tweet us an image back if you see them! The posters run from 13 Jan to 9 Feb.

New pages at www.visityork.org/first now showcase fifty first time experiences to entice new visitors to the city and offer ideas for a return trip. Our 2014 marketing and PR campaign is funded through the Regional Growth Fund in liaison with VisitEngland and is sponsored by East Coast Trains.

Two new press partnerships with the Telegraph and the Independent newspapers will introduce York’s ‘Fifty Firsts’ to a million plus readership, along with a host of new content including a re-edit of the ‘48 hours in York’ video, with renowned Travel Writer Simon Calder. Simon has added in some timely news on the Tour de France, Revealing York Minster and the Star Inn the City. Online articles from Yorkshire based food and travel blogger Jill Turton on where to eat, drink and shop will also go live this week.
