Visit York Tourism Awards 2017 - Categories (#VYTA17)

Entries are now open for the Visit York Tourism Awards 2017! A list of the award categories and their entry forms are below.

Please complete the relevant form and return to vyawards@visityork.org by 1 March 2017.

It is free to enter the Visit York Tourism Awards for all Visit York members. For non-members there is a charge of £150 + VAT.


 

 B&B of the Year

This award is for any independent Bed & Breakfast establishment.

Café or Tearoom of the Year

Any café, tearoom, or ‘eat in’ delicatessen in York that offers a friendly, warm environment where customers are able to relax, and enjoy a bite to eat.

Conference Venue of the Year

Any organisations in the business tourism sector, such as exhibition centres, hotels, attractions with meetings space, conference and banqueting venues.

Family Friendly Experience of the Year

Any venue, attraction or experience that offers a great Family Friendly Experience. The experience may include an activity, event, festival, tour, ghost walk, river cruise, etc.

Hotel of the Year

Any and all hotels, ranging from international chains to small independents.

Newcomer of the Year – new category for 2017!

Any new retail or commercial business that has been set up in 2016– ranging from large national and international retailers to small, quirky or unusual retail outlets offering a unique experience for the visitors of York.

Outstanding Customer Service

Any individual who has recognised the vital importance of both welcome and customer service and who consistently demonstrate an exceptional customer care ethos can be nominated. This award is for individuals only and team admissions will not be accepted.

All restaurants including those located within a hotel and open to non-residents.

Any retail business – ranging from large national and international retailers to small, quirky or unusual retail outlets offering a unique experience of York.

Visitor Attraction of the Year – over 50,000 visitors

Any visitor attraction over 50,000 visitors, including attractions that offer pre-booked tickets, museums, interpretation centres, historic houses and gardens. Nominated attractions must be open to the public between March and April 2017 to ensure they can be mystery shopped as part of the judging process.

Any visitor attraction under 50,000 visitors, including attractions that offer pre-booked tickets, museums, interpretation centres, historic houses and gardens. Any visitor experience that is not under the heading of visitor attraction. The experience may include a specific activity, event, festival, tour, ghost walk, river cruise, etc. Visitor experience also includes temporary attractions.

Visit York Outstanding Contribution Award 2017

This award category is in recognition of an individual who has made a significant contribution to York’s Tourism Industry. The recipient of this award will be chosen by our independent panel of judges.
