UK or European destinations: this is your chance to shine. Wanderlust magazine is looking for a whopping 25 winners for its ‘How far can you travel on £250?' challenge. Spread the word! Please use your social media channels - facebook, twitter (#Wanderlust250), e-newsletters - to encourage travellers to suggest trips to your destination. The best proposals will get extensive coverage in the magazine and online.
 

What: How far can you travel on £250? Wanderlust is throwing down the challenge to travellers - and the 25 most imaginative ideas will win the cash to make them happen.
The magazine is inviting ideas for the most adventurous and interesting trips you can take for £250 per person, all in. Trips must start and finish in the UK, last a minimum of two nights, and include accommodation. Beyond that, the sky's the limit. Find a cheap flight and stay in a B&B. Take a ferry and go couchsurfing. Jump on the Eurostar and work on an organic farm. The further you go, and the longer you go for, the more likely you are to win the funds to do it.

The 25 best ideas from travellers will each receive £250 from Wanderlust to make them happen. In return, the magazine is asking for a souvenir (the cheaper the better), some pictures, and a report, so they can feature the experience in the magazine and online.

The initial closing date is 6 July 2011, and winners will be notified by 21 July.

What kind of trips are you looking for?

The rules state:

"We're looking for ideas which will inspire other travellers to follow in your footsteps, not just demonstrate how frugally you can travel. This is not about starving yourself for a week and sleeping in bus stations; we want you to have an adventure and come home safe and healthy with a great tale to tell. We want to be surprised, too - so a city break to Paris is unlikely to score as highly as one to, say, Palermo."
