Spooky stories and candlelit tours at Mansion House

21/10/2010

For the very first time visitors will get the opportunity to experience the spookier side of the historic Mansion House.

The famous home stands on the former site of a medieval hospital, but has been the residence of the Lord Mayor of York for centuries, since being built in 1725 - so it has a tale or two to tell.

On Wednesday 27, Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 October, visitors are invited to attend a special ghost tour hosted by well-known local ghost storyteller Mark Graham [theoriginalghostwalkofyork.co.uk].

During the tour, Mark will walk visitors through the candlelit corridors to unlock some of the murky secrets of York's grandest residence.

Tours start at 6.30pm outside on the steps of Mansion House. Space are limited to 30 people per night, priced at £5.50 for adults and £4.50 for concessions/children.

Pre-booking is essential  - online at www.jorvikbookings.com or contact the Mansion House on 01904  615505.

Warm clothing and sturdy footwear is recommended.
