Call for ‘budding poets' for ‘Rhyme and Dine' event at Bedern Hall, Part of York Food Festival, Tuesday 20 September, 7pm with Anneliese Emmans Dean
York Food and Drink Festival-goers are invited to submit poems about Bedern Hall York in advance of the venue's Rhyme & Dine event on Tuesday 20th September. The winning poet will receive two complimentary places at the event.
Entries will be judged by internationally acclaimed York poet and performer Anneliese Emmans Dean who has joined up with Bedern Hall for an evening of sizzling poetry interspersed between the courses of a sumptuous 3-course meal.
Roger Lee of Time and Place Catering and who manages Bedern Hall for the Guilds of York comments: "Food and wine are poetry to most of our customers and this event is also about the harmony of the food we serve. Our ‘Rhyme and Dine' menu has been created to showcase the best of local, seasonal produce, much of it from our own gardens and Anneliese has written humorous poems to complement each dish."
Entries should be emailed to Roger Lee: roger@bedernhall.co.uk by Friday 16th September and the winner will be informed on Monday 19th September and invited to attend the event on Tuesday. The winning entry will be recited at the dinner.
