This July the team at Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal, a World Heritage Site near Ripon, are looking forward to a brand new event, the Fountains Abbey Summer Party.

On Friday 22nd July, Fountains Hall will provide an ideal backdrop for a summer evening's entertainment; at 6.15pm party goers are invited to the private walled garden at Fountains Hall for Pimms and canapés while being entertained by a string trio from Pavilion Music. There will also be an opportunity to be shown areas of the hall not normally open to the public by one of the expert guides. The second part of the evening will be a mouth watering two course barbeque provided by the new head chef Paul Garner and his team using fresh, local seasonal ingredients. Tempt your taste buds with main courses which include lime and coriander salmon and lemon and thyme chicken and then choose from a selection of sweets from the dessert table.

Round off the evening by taking to the dance floor for a ceilidh, performed by popular local band, The Roosters.

Liz Bielby, Functions Co-ordinator at Fountains Abbey, says:

‘This year we decided to put on a brand new event. We have a loyal customer base for our Traditional Christmas Evenings so wanted to give them and other supporters of Fountains Abbey the chance to enjoy the estate on a summer's evening. The summer party offers a chance to see historic areas not normally open to the public, sample delicious freshly cooked food and to be entertained by locally renowned high quality musicians.'

Tickets cost £37.50. To buy your tickets, telephone 01765 643197/8.
