WHAT: A 17th Century merman will have its first public outing as part of a new ‘Shipwrecks' exhibition at York Archaeological Trust's DIG attraction.
The 1.5meter merman wooden carving was part of the Swash Channel shipwreck discovery and will be on display in York along with a fascinating collection of shipwreck finds.
WHO: See and photograph the 400 year old merman which is submerged in water within a glass display case at York Archaeological Trust's DIG attraction.
Meet Ian Panter, the Trust's principal conservator who is heading up archaeological research and conservation work surrounding the shipwreck finds on display.
