The tourist industry in Yorkshire is getting a helping hand from long established local solicitors, Ware & Kay LLP.  The York and Wetherby based solicitors have agreed, with 'Welcome to Yorkshire' and its six* area tourism partnerships, to provide legal advice to more than 2,675 businesses involved in Yorkshire's booming tourism industry as part of their membership benefits.

A wide variety of businesses make up Yorkshire's tourism industry, from guest accommodation and restaurants to attractions such as The Forbidden Corner, Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Legal issues crop up for different businesses; whether it's advice on sales and purchases of tourism businesses, employment questions from tourism employers, issues with cancelled bookings or TV licenses for hotels and B&Bs.  Ware & Kay provides advice on all the legal aspects likely to be encountered by a tourism business.

Peter Kay, senior partner of Ware & Kay and in charge of delivery comments:  "We are delighted to have entered into agreements with the area tourism partnerships in the Welcome to Yorkshire family. This cements Ware & Kay's relationship with the tourism sector and builds on experience we have built up over many years advising tourism businesses.

"We are also delighted to have enhanced the service through our partnership with OHS in respect of Health and Safety advice".

Meanwhile, John Horsfall, Managing Director of OHS adds: ‘"No matter what size an organisation or operation; it is a legal obligation to be compliant. The leisure industry has many health, safety and environmental requirements. Fire risk assessments, asbestos and legionella management and DDA are issues that readily spring to mind. However, at OHS the safety of all employees, customers, suppliers and the public is our main concern. We are happy to advise all Yorkshire leisure related organisations, on economic means of achieving HSE compliancy."
