Painters and potters will be making their way to Parliament Street this month for an open air art exhibition, organised by City of York Council.
On Saturday 24 April from 9am to 5pm and Sunday 25 April from 10am to 4pm the city centre will be full of colour, with local artists and potters from across the region displaying and selling their paintings, drawings and ceramics.
There will also be a chance for residents and tourists to try and develop their own pieces of art at free taster sessions, provided by the council's Adult Community Education team. Sessions will run on both days between 11am to 1pm and 1.30pm to 3.30pm, with the help of experienced professionals.
For more information about the events please visit www.york.gov.uk/markets
The event is being organised by City of York Council's city centre management team in conjunction with York Art Society and the Northern Potters Association.
Ten per cent of all the weekends' takings will be donated to Martin House Hospice.
