York-born artist, Paul Wilks, is returning to his hometown of York to exhibit his recent work at Gray's Court from 4th-31st May. An alumnus of York School of Art and The Royal Academy Schools (RASA), Paul is renowned for his ‘from life' or ‘Dal Vero' work - pastels and drawings from direct observation.  His strange and colourful paintings contain bizarre associations inspired by his fascination with the process of perception. In his first solo exhibition in York for five years, art lovers will have a rare chance to see his recent explorations and experiments.

Now based in London, Paul's background encompasses design, film and TV, and lecturing at the University of London.  Paul has always retained strong links with York, and he will be available on selected dates during the exhibition to discuss his work with anybody who wants to know more about himself or his work.  Entry is free.
