Get stuck into some truly Artrageous action this summer
22/07/2011
Beningbrough Hall and Gardens is a family favourite during the school holidays and this summer will be no different. The team at the National Trust place just north of York will be running Artrageous workshops - days when children can come and let their creative imaginations run wild. Free drop in sessions will take place every Monday and Tuesday from 25 July until 30 August between 1 - 3pm.
The summer fun will include sessions such as making Georgian fans, coins and musical instruments as well as have the opportunity to come for a hair-raising experience with wigs and accessories. Some of the sessions will give children the chance to design their own personal jockey silks before parading them on our hobby horses.
Clare Fletcher, community, learning and volunteering manager at Beningbrough Hall, said:
"We're really looking forward to a summer of creativity and where possible if our great British weather can stay fine, as many of our workshops will take place outside in the sunshine, where children's imaginations can truly run wild!"
A taster for the kind of activities to be enjoyed this summer is being given on Saturday 23 July, from 1 - 3pm. Beningbrough is hosting a Street Art Artrageous workshop where children can come and have a go at creating a funky cobble design on the cobbles using chalks.
Beningbrough Hall and gardens is open daily throughout the school holidays from 11am - 5pm, for more information, tel: 01904 472027.
