Yorkshire Heart Vineyard & Brewery have been shortlisted in the Producers and Makers Category at the much sought after White Rose Awards 2016.
Years of hard work and determination is paying off as the team at Yorkshire Heart Vineyard & Brewery have once again found themselves finalists at this year’s white rose awards which celebrate the very best of tourism in Yorkshire.
Since first planting at their vineyard in Nun Monkton, near York in 2006 the business & team has grown keeping fully focused on producing their award winning fine English wines from grape to glass in their Vineyard & Winery as well as a fantastic range of quality easy drinking craft beers from the heart in cask and bottles at their modern micro-brewery since 2011.
The Yorkshire Heart team are so proud of the Vineyard & Brewery as it is fast becoming recognised as one of Yorkshire's finest drink producers & a top visitor attraction.
Owners Chris & Gillian Spakouskas said ‘We could not be more thrilled to be finalists once again at this top awards, the whole team work so hard and just to be a finalist is a huge achievement and honour for us, do we hope to win? Well of course we do but it’s a tough category and we will just enjoy a well-earned night out with our team and keep our fingers crossed!’
The Yorkshire Heart Vineyard was born from a love of making wine from the fruits found in hedgerows and gardens and a passion for growing plants.
In 2006 Chris & Gillian decided to plant their very first 1500 vines as a serious hobby, this quickly escalated to much more than a hobby with 1000 to 3000 vines planted each April for the next 5 years. 2014 saw further expansion with another 4500 vines planted bringing the total up to 10 acres of land growing 17,000 vines.
The Yorkshire Heart Brewery is passionate about producing honest, quality easy drinking craft beers to the highest possible standards and produces 8 core beers as well as monthly specials including the hugely popular Rhubarbeer.
Yorkshire Heart welcome visitors to the vineyard for tours & tastings, meetings, parties & weddings as well as camping & caravan stays, their knowledgeable team work extremely hard to ensure that everyone who visits has a fantastic time. Customers thrive on their passion for the beauty that they are so lucky to work within every day,
2017 sees plans to build a brand new visitor centre at the vineyard with café & shop.
