Bigger, bolder and more thrilling than ever, The York Dungeon is staring bad luck in the face and the revamped attraction will be opening on Friday 13th May. From this date, visitors will once again be able to experience the horrible history and frighteningly funny thrills guaranteed upon entry.
Those who passed through Parliament Street on Thursday 14th April will have spotted a mighty band of ferocious Vikings with their longboat run aground as the flood waters dispersed. Their next stop? The York Dungeon where a brand new interactive show, the Vengeance of the Vikings, will be unveiled.
Andrew Turner, Operations Manager at The York Dungeon explains: “Bearded, bold and fearless, the Vikings were masters of weapon-wielding and famed for their ruthlessness in battle. Our visitors will be able to journey through the revamped Dungeon and will find themselves in the heart of the Viking defences in the middle of a battle, before they experience a very close encounter with Snore Short Sword; Viking soldier and master weapon maker.
“They’ll learn all about the torturous techniques employed by this ruthless race, which was famed for its magnificent stature. Whipping, viper pits and the infamous blood eagling that was enforced on sneaky Saxon invaders, just make up part of what lies in store!”
