News Release - Issued by Yorkshire Air Museum
Staff and volunteers at the Yorkshire Air Museum were delighted to receive notification that for the third year running, we have been awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Award. The new certificate was received in the post today and has been placed in a frame, along with a host of other awards.
Museum spokesman, Ian Richardson, commented: “This is a great vote of confidence for us which has come directly from our visitors, which is the best from of award and recognition to earn. It is a reflection of all our staff, particularly the volunteers, who do so much to help us create an interesting and exciting attraction that now boasts 7 live jet and propeller aircraft, restored and preserved here, from amongst a broad collection of aircraft and acclaimed exhibitions.”
The Museum is being visited by more and more people, many coming to see events such as “Thunder Days” where our live aircraft are started up on site, close at hand so the audience can see, hear and smell the aircraft as the engines fire up. Even on rainy days, the Museum provides an interesting place for visitors, as much of the exhibits are under cover!
The Trip Advisor Award comes hard on the heels of the Museum’s famous ‘NAAFI’ Restaurant gaining a 5 Star Food Hygiene rating, the best it can get, giving us cause for a double celebration and all the reassurance our visitors need.
