News release - Issued by Las Iguanas
Las Iguanas, brimming with Latin-American vitality and flair, launched its 48th site in York on Easter Monday and guests gathered on Thursday 31st March to celebrate York’s newest restaurant.
Located on Back Swinegate, on what is becoming known as the cultural quarter of the city, Las Iguanas York is a fiesta of reclaimed and recycled materials - ranging from original brick walls to pieces of distressed timber, creating warm and unusual surfaces throughout the building. Set over two spacious floors, the 120 cover restaurant also benefits from a spacious terrace on the upper level, seating 70, which will be the place to be seen for a cocktail or two in the warmer months.
Guests enjoyed traditional dishes from across Latin America using only the freshest and highest quality ingredients and to get in the spirit, they were also shown how to make the classic Las Iguanas’ Caipirinhas made from Las Iguanas own cachaça distilled near Rio de Janeiro. The evening culminated in Carnival Dancers showing the guests just how to celebrate in true Latin-American style.
To celebrate the opening, guests to Las Iguanas York can enjoy the Big Burrito Giveaway each day whereby 100 free burritos will be given out to the first 100 guests each day - Friday 1st – Sunday 3rd April 12pm – 3pm.
