F1 Racing will be closed between 16 September and 5 October whilst undergoing a total £300,000 refurbishment. It will re-open on 6 October as ‘York Motorsports village', which will house F1/F2/F3 kart racing, the GPXperience and Bar Enzo.
As well as a completely renewed and rebuilt interior with improved viewing, seating and lighting, the racetrack will be totally upgraded and extended with a new ‘grand prix standard’ track surface along with a significant number of driver friendly improvements – complemented by the opening of Bar Enzo.
In addition, a state of the art £60,000 grand prix race simulator - the GPXperience - will be installed, giving customers the chance to test their skills on the best race tracks in the world from the cockpit of a formula 1 car. Phil Hannington, General Manager stated: ‘We have been here since 1997, and have developed and extended the racetrack a number of times over the years.
With all the major changes at Monks Cross it was important we kept pace with the improvements, and this £300,000 investment will see us offer the very best experience - be it wheel to wheel racing or in our new £60,000 race simulator’ Phil continued: ‘For us, customer satisfaction is our primary aim, and these major improvements will appeal to a wide audience, including our corporate customers, offering a full package of motorsport entertainment in an unrivalled setting.
The improvements will make York Motorsports Village a unique venue, offering a total package of driving experiences’. A full updated and new pricing package will be made available on the website in late August, but bookings are now being taken, giving you the chance to be one of the first to book a GPXperience.
