2014 Early Music Festivals

Beverley & East Riding Early Music Festival 2014

Wednesday 21 - Sunday 25 May
Guest artists will include soprano Elin Manahan Thomas and lutenist David Miller (Wed 21); the Society of Strange and Ancient Instruments with dancer Steven Player (Thurs 22); the ever brilliant vocal ensemble I Fagiolini directed by Robert Hollingworth (Fri 23); the internationally acclaimed harpsichordist Andreas Staier (Sat 24) and the choral ensemble Magnificat (Sat 24). Highlights include workshops for singers led by Magnificat director Philip Cave (Sun 25).

York Early Music Festival 2014

Age of Gold, Age of Enlightenment
Guest artists include Jordi Savall and Hesperion XXI (Thursday 10); The Sixteen directed by Harry Christophers (Friday 11); Yorkshire Baroque Soloists (Saturday 12); the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment (Sunday 13); Ensemble Gilles Binchois and Les Sacqueboutiers (Monday 14); soprano María Cristina Kiehr with Ariel Abramovich lute, vihulea (Wednesday 16); Cardinalls’ Musicke (Thursday 17) and the Zapico brothers from Spain (Friday 18).

York Early Music Christmas Festival 2014

A seasonal celebration of Early Music in the beautiful festive city of York which features artists including La Serenissima, one of the leading exponents of the music of Antonio Vivaldi and his contemporaries, directed by Adrian Chandler, and the internationally acclaimed vocal ensemble, Stile Antico.
