Local Malton Model Georgia Jones Launches Yorkshire's Winter Wonderland at York Designer Outlet

McArthurGlen’s York Designer Outlet will kick start the festive season with the Christmas tree illumination and ice skating spectacular at Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland.

The stunning 30ft Christmas tree will be switched on, on Friday 21st, with help from representatives of children’s hospice Martin House. Following the illumination, international skaters Olga Sharutenko and Yuri Salmanovs of The Imperial Ice Stars will perform a spectacular routine to Tchaikovsky’s famous Nutcracker, as well as a contemporary piece to ‘Winter Wonderland’. Skating stars of the future, aged four – 17 years old, from Hull Arena Ice Skating Club will take to the ice to perform a gala show based on the Disney film ‘Frozen’.

Santa will be handing out gifts from his new Grotto in a stunning Lapland setting and seven enchanting wooden cabins, each depicting a scene from The Nutcracker fairytale, line the path to The Ice Factor rink.

Yorkshire’s Winter Wonderland is open daily, except Christmas Day, from Saturday 22nd November 2014 until Sunday 4th January 2015. Tickets for a one-hour ice skating session cost £9.95 for adults and £8.95 for children and concessions. Discounts apply for groups of 20 or more and special party packages are available.
