It's Tea Time!

The Black Swan, Helmsley and Afternoon tea is a match made in heaven! The hotel’s quaint tearooms, renowned for their award-winning afternoon teas, and selection of more than twenty of the world’s finest teas, has proven to attract visitors and locals alike to the hotel at the heart of picturesque Helmsley.

Love Cake Week

In the days leading to Valentine’s weekend, practise self-love by treating yourself and may be a dear one to FREE cake at The Black Swan’s tearooms! Where’s the catch? There isn’t one, this genuinely LOVE-ly offer is, simply buy a hot beverage (a pot of Black Swan tea or filter coffee) to qualify for a free piece of cake. Choose from a tempting selection such as chocolate torte, fruit bavarois, lemon and poppy seed cake, chocolate and raspberry mousse. What a fabulous excuse to spoil yourself – ‘naughty but nice’!

Offer is available Monday 9th February to Thursday 12th at any time of the day - Tearooms open from 10am – 5.30pm.

The tearooms offer so much more than tea and cakes, come and visit us at any time of the day and be tempted by cooked breakfasts, snacks including healthy nutritious salads, heart warming soups, sandwiches of various types from a classical Croque Monsieur to a doorstep York Ham and mustard; and a wide range of mouth-watering Specialities includes Lamb Cutlet with minted new potatoes, Thai Green Chicken Curry and Asian style Pork Belly. Tea Dance Events

Enter the spirit of twentieth century nostalgia, with the eternally-popular ‘Tea Dance’, an occasion that enjoyed popularity particularly in war-time Britain, and is now enjoying a delightful resurgence. Brighten up Monday afternoons whatever the weather with a Tea Dance, the event includes dancing, with optional tuition, and music.

Light afternoon tea is included, tickets are £15 pp and pre-booking is strongly advised. (2pm – 5pm)

About The Black Swan and its award-winning tearooms
The hotel is a four star coaching inn now a boutique hotel with 45 bedrooms and one of the county’s most superb tea rooms is part of the hotel’s award-winning food offering, along with their fine dining restaurant’. It has been well established as a hotel since the C18th, setting the tone for standards of hospitality in this affluent and rural part of Yorkshire, on the edge of the North York Moors.

The tearooms opened in 2007 by Marco Pierre White and were established to be the best of their kind. They attract repeat visitors from near and far, not necessarily resident to the hotel.
