News Release - Issued by Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden

Be an Easter Eggsplorer at Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden with the National Trust

Cadbury team up with National Trust to offer families a cracking Bank Holiday Easter weekend

This Easter school holiday there's so much to enjoy at this fantastic National Trust site, just outside Ripon you can take your pick...

Throughout the school holidays (Sat 28 March – Sun 12 April) you can track down a tiny golden egg hidden somewhere on the estate. Be warned it’s a challenge not for the faint-hearted… Look high and low for your chance to win an eggstremely eggcellent prize, but don’t let slip the location of the egg to anyone else, it’s a secret!

It’s a busy Easter for Holy Henry and Gorgeous Georgia. Help them make this Easter the best Fountain’s has ever seen by finding clues around the estate on this holiday trail (Sat 28 March – Sun 12 April). Or come down to Swanley Grange, get crafty and create your very own little lamb key ring to take home with you.

Tick off two of your ‘50 things to do before you’re 11 & ¾’; using the best nature has to offer on the estate roll up your sleeves and make the biggest den you’ve ever seen on bookable den building sessions (Thu 9 & Fri 10 April), or book to go pond dipping to explore an extraordinary underwater world (Wed 1 April).

The holiday adventures continue over four days of Easter Bank Holiday fun (Fri 3 – Mon 6 April) with a bonanza of activity – Hunting for giant decorated eggs on a Cadbury Easter Egg trail (£2 per trail), getting your face painted then eating a chocolately Cadbury Easter egg prize - all in a day’s work for a busy ‘Eggsplorer’. Take up the challenge and put your best foot forward in an egg and spoon race, and bring your decorated egg to get involved with Easter Eggsploits (Mon 6 April).

Join a guide and dress up as a monk to find out what life was like for the monks of Fountains Abbey in the Middle Ages on this new family abbey tour (Sat 11 April).

Whether its Easter adventures, spring nature spotting or exciting games you’re are after this Easter, get out and about this spring with some family frolics at Fountains!

Make the most of Easter with the National Trust and visit more than one Easter Egg Trail. There’ll also be Easter fun taking place just down the road at nearby Brimham Rocks where you can hunt for giant eggs hidden amongst the rocks.
