York JORVIK Viking Centre Offer - 30/08/2011

How would you like to travel back 1000 years on board your time machine through the backyards and houses to the bustling streets of Jorvik? Well guess what? You can do just that at the "JORVIK Viking Centre" at Coppergate in York, with their audio and video displays which will help you to investigate all of the information gathered from the 5-year long archaeological dig, giving you the experience of life in Viking-Age York.

At the JORVIK Viking Centre you will be standing on the site of one of the most famous and amazing discoveries of modern archaeology in the UK. The dig took place between the years 1976 - 1981 archaeologists from "York Archaeological Trust" revealed the dwellings, workshops and backyards of the 1000 year old Viking-Age city of Jorvik.

For family visitors there is currently a great offer on at the moment, with every full paying adult, 1 child has free entry to the Jorvik Viking Centre in York.
