Cranford comes to York - 03/08/2011

If you are visiting the beautiful city of York shortly and want to enjoy some literary culture, plus a good period costume drama with a summer twist, then why head along to York's "Museum Gardens" on Friday the 5th August, as Chapterhouse are putting on the adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's classic novel "Cranford".

So why not come along, sit back and relax in an evening's entertainment of an English literary classic from the celebrated novelist Elizabeth Gaskell and her much loved book "Cranford". Prepare to be transported back to Victorian country life and be immersed in such adventures and dramas of life during that period.

This is a new adaptation by Laura Turner which is part of the celebrations of commemorating Gaskell's bicentenary this year of this book. The play is being staged outside in the Museum Gardens, so you will need to bring a blanket or low back seating to sit on.

Family and discounted group tickets are also available, as this is sure to be a play to give an excellent entertainment and will bring a smile to people of all ages and the whole family.
