Knightly Fun in York - 28/07/2011
If you're in York looking for something to do on your summer holidays then you're in luck! As York Castle Museum is holding a fantastic medieval event where you can learn to be a knight for the day!
Running over the kids summer holidays this year, from July 23 to August 31, York Castle is holding a Knight training camp in the museum's exercise yard. The kids will be able to make their own medieval style helmet and crest and enter the tournament field to practice their newly learnt knightly skills.
In addition to this visitors can enjoy all that York Castle usually has to offer, with its fantastic medieval history, and on Fridays and Saturdays through out the summer they can also witness the professional armourer Andrew Bodley in action making real steel pieces of armour.
