The Millennium Brideg opened in 2001 as part of York's Millennium celebrations. The bridge arches smoothly over the 80 metre distance from bank to bank and the design is based upon the spokes of a bicycle. Sitting harmoniously between the formal landscaping up-stream and the informal countryside downstream, the bridge is a useful crossing point between Fulford and the South Bank and is well used by York’s many cyclists and walkers. |
