The Centre (named after the Spurriers’ Guild which no longer survives) was formerly the Church of St Michael the Archangel and, on the south wall there is a window, which illustrates the 9 different kinds of angels. Angels appear in many of the plays. Beside the angel window, on the east wall, another window shows the fall from heaven of Lucifer, the rebel angel, as described in the very first play, ‘The Fall of The Angels’, performed by the Tanners’ Guild. |
