The new Parade Ring Restaurant at York Racecourse is set to open on Wednesday 13 May, the first day of the Dante Festival and the start of York’s 2015 racing season.
Situated on the top floor of the future Weighing Room, this landmark building, adjacent to the Parade Ring, saddling boxes and pre-parade ring, provides the ideal location for a fine dining experience and corporate hospitality.
The Parade Ring Restaurant itself is a wonderful space to enjoy a raceday, right in the heart of the equine activity. With a dedicated entrance, welcoming timber clad main room with feature roof window, air conditioning, bespoke Axminster carpet and all the best in modern facilities. The private balcony offers a stunning view of the thoroughbreds as they prepare to enter the Knavesmire track, with the main stands and course itself spreading out towards the horizon.
The Parade Ring Restaurant will offer a haven for smaller parties (up to six diners) who can look forward to a three course luncheon, afternoon tea and drinks served to their private table, for the whole day. Chefs who love working with fresh local ingredients will design a menu that would grace establishments well known to the discerning diner.
Commenting on the new Parade Ring Restaurant, William Derby, Chief Executive and Clerk of the Course said, “We are very excited about seeing the new Parade Ring Restaurant add to the already superb facilities at York. This restaurant will provide a new option for County Stand racegoers – a fine dining experience that is also a base for the day in a stunning location, right at the heart of the horse and jockey activity. I am hugely impressed by the quality, craftsmanship and style of the architecture and building work. Combined with the skills of our chefs and restaurant team, the Parade Ring Restaurant promises to be a very special place to go racing at York.”
Nick Fazackerley, General Manager for York Racecourse Hospitality, added, “I’m proud of our chefs and all our existing restaurants but the Parade Ring Restaurant does promise to be something a bit special. I’m fortunate to have taken in the view during the building phase so it is already one of my favourites and I think the same will be true of the dishes being created especially for it.”
Prices for the new restaurant will start at £120 per person including VAT for the Dante Festival on Wednesday 13, Thursday 14 and Friday 15 May & Saturday 30 May, Friday 12, Saturday 13 June, Friday 10, Saturday 11 July, Friday evening 24, Saturday 25 July, Friday 9 and Saturday 10 October.
