The Countess of York at the National Railway Museum in York has been named as a finalist in the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2017 in the Afternoon Tea of the Year category.
The Countess of York, a beautifully restored 1956 Pullman-style carriage converted into an Edwardian style dining car, is a joint venture between the Science Museum Group and Levy Restaurants, the National Railway Museum’s catering partner. Since opening in 2015 it has consistently impressed visitors with its exceptional afternoon tea as well as private events and wedding receptions.
Working collaboratively with industry, VisitEngland’s Awards for Excellence celebrate the best in English tourism with winners set to be revealed at the awards ceremony on Monday 24 April at the Hilton Waldorf, London.
The Countess of York represents one of three finalists in the Afternoon Tea of the Year category.
