Details

Fairfax Corner is a light, spacious and very comfortable family house, extensively renovated to high environmental standards. Once a Victorian corner shop, it is in a quiet and sunny central spot.

All rooms have a view of the historic medieval walls of the city. We are ideally situated to explore York. There is a private leafy south-facing yard, with a shed for bike storage. We also have lots of books, music, art and there is table tennis in the cellar. We have solar panels to help heat water and other eco-friendly features. There is free parking for one car.

We have flexible booking arrangements, and to book you need to contact us directly via the web site, telephone or by letter.

    “Really good”

Great location meaning no need for car use when in the city, and very helpful to be able to park as part of the booking. The house was bigger than we expected, plenty of space for 5-6. Everyone loved the table tennis room and the period features. The walls are visible close by from the kitchen window. The 'green politics' angle - not just in the sense of looking after the house in eco-friendly ways - is quite prevalent which may not suit some people.
