The Countess of York is a beautifully restored Pullman-style railway carriage in the heart of the National Railway Museum’s courtyard. Step aboard the Countess and travel back in time to the era of luxury rail travel, with the opulent carriage décor and furnishings. The unique space provided by the Countess of York is the perfect venue for that corporate event with a touch of class – we can accommodate up to 33 people for intimate networking, team-building events or presentations. Delegates can choose from our summer terrace packages from £16.95 per person for drinks and canapés, with the option to upgrade the package to include a Pimm’s reception and BBQ; alternatively we offer a variety of locally-sourced fine dining packages ranging from £49 per person - an elegant choice for a memorable corporate dinner.

On foot: It's a 10 minute walk to the museum from the centre of town, and the route is well signposted. But for a quicker, more convenient route from the city centre why not catch the Road Train which runs from the museum's entrance to York Minster.

By Road: The museum is clearly signposted from all approaches to the city. The visitor car park is on Leeman Road (£9 per day). Accessible parking is free, and available outside the museum's City Entrance.
