Details

The sea-faring nations of 17th century Northern Europe were closely connected, trading everything from iron, wool, books, salt and soldiers, to music and ideas. In this programme, 17th century northern musicians look to one another for inspiration with music by Buxtehude, Staden, Dowland, Bertali and Dietrich Becker alongside Andrew Keeling's new composition Northern Soul.
