York is extremely proud of its cultural heritage but it’s not often that you come across a Monet or Van Gogh whilst walking around the city!
For the next 17 weeks, full life size recreations of paintings from Van Gogh to Carracci will transform the streets of York into a gallery. The York Art Gallery, aiming to encourage people to visit the genuine works has hung 49 life-sized reproductions of famous masterpieces around York in the most unexpected and unusual places. We challenge you to discover them all and if you can’t, you will at least have some unique snapshots to show your friends!
